Annika Ingelaere (° 1971) has been fascinated since childhood by Applied Arts and in particular jewellery. First she studied graphic and advertising design at Sint-Lucas Ghent (1994), later Jewellery Design at the Academy of Sint-Niklaas (2000). She got her Master degree in Jewellery Design, Gold- and Silversmithing at PXL-MAD Hasselt (2020). By continuing to train herself, her work is constantly evolving. She loves creating but also passing on her knowledge. That is why she regularly exhibits her work and organizes workshops. For several years, she searched for a link between jewellery and the graphic design and thanks to enamel, she found this link. She can paint with the powders, the colours, the transparencies … She learned the technique in Idar-Oberstein (Germany). In the beginning, she searched for the boundary between art and kitsch. By combining several materials (raw stones, wood, silver …), she retrieved the balance.
